The Mysterious & Hot Goth makeup gets a fresh new cousin - Soft Goth, the newest trend in makeup. All thanks to Jenna Ortega.

Soft Goth is all about retaining the hot and dark character of goth looks, without looking like 'straight out of a Halloween party'. Let's see how to get this look.

Start with a foundation that is 1-2 shades lighter than your natural skin tone to achieve a pale-ish complexion. Blend using a makeup sponge.

Step 1: The Base

Use a white face powder to set your foundation, giving your skin a pale and matte finish.

Step 2: Set the foundation

Soft goth makeup is more subtle, so avoid adding too much color, like blush, to the face. You may use a little contour to hollow out the cheeks for a slightly sunken look

Step 3: Contour

The focus of a goth makeup look is often on the eyes. Start by filling in your eyebrows to create a more dramatic and defined look

Step 4: Eyebrows

Apply black eyeshadow and blend it into your crease to create a smokey eye effect. You can also mix some shimmery shades for modern goth.

Step 5: Eyeshadow

Use a black cream eyeliner  or kohl to define waterline. For the upper lash line, ditch the eyeliner and use dark eyeshadow to create a more diffused liner look.

Step 6: Eyeliner

Unlike deep reds and blacks of traditional goth, lighter shades of pink, brown and orange work just fine for soft goth.

Step 7: Lips
